About Me:

Hello Parents/Caregivers and Students,

I was born and raised on Chicago's northwest side in Portage Park and love my city and its people. I earned my Bachelor's degree from DePaul University in Psychology/Human Development and came to teaching after having a career in Mental Health services at a non-profit providing support to adults with various mental health diagnoses and developmental disabilities.  I went back to school and earned my Master's from University of Illinois at Chicago's School of Education in Special Education (LBS1). Since then, I have earned my Middle School Science and Teaching English as a Second Language endorsements.

I have been at Stone for almost 8 years supporting our students with specialized services.

This year, I will the learning specialist and coteaching with Ms. Pfest for advisory, 6th, and 8th grade science, Ms. Karic in 8th algebra, and Mr, Johnson for 8th ELA. I have been very fortunate to have worked with Ms. Karic for the last 6 years and Ms. Pfest for the last 8. This has allowed us to build our relationship as coteachers and our ability to help ALL students within our classroom. I look forward to working with Mr. Johnson and engaging in ELA (which I haven't taught in 6 years!!!).
