Hi there! My name is Jessica Chong and I will be the 6th grade English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies (SS) teacher at Stone this year. This will be my 11th year teaching and my fourth year here at Stone Scholastic Academy, with my previous seven years of teaching being in Urbana-Champaign (my alma mater).
My favorite parts of teaching include building relationships and getting to know each student, encouraging curiosity and a love of learning, creative writing, and communicating all the great things your child is accomplishing at school.
When I am not at school, I enjoy exploring new cities and National Parks, eating out at the vast array of Chicago restaurants, pottery (wheel throwing), listening to live music, and burying my nose in a good book!
